Lenne, The Elementalist

This page may contain spoilers regarding Broken Aether.

Lenne is a magic-focused attacker with a very strong MAG stat and resource pool, allowing her to cast frequently without running out of energy early in battles. Her primary design focus is elemental offense - she can target most elemental weaknesses throughout the game, making her extremely adaptable across enemy types.

Lenne’s damage output scales dramatically when supported by allies who provide magical buffs, resistance manipulation, or enable consistent weakness targeting. In coordinated setups, she becomes a major contributor to party DPS by converting elemental states into powerful burst windows. Team synergy directly enhances her performance, making her most impactful when built around party-wide elemental strategies.

She can further amplify her output using skills that temporarily boost her magical damage or enhance elemental interactions. With proper timing, Lenne can deliver high burst damage, especially in encounters where defeating key targets quickly is essential. These abilities reinforce her identity as a primary caster in more advanced builds.

A number of her skills also incorporate mobility or aerial mechanics, enabling her to adapt to positional requirements and specific encounter challenges. This flexibility allows her to remain valuable even when raw damage isn’t the sole priority.

Strengths

  • Magic Attacker focused on exploiting elemental weaknesses.

  • Has one of the highest damage-output potential in the entire game.

  • Second highest MAG.

  • Second highest TP.

  • Has both single-target and area-of-effect skills.

  • Has access to the Coat skills, that can imbue the whole party with elemental damage.

  • One of the few characters who can remove enemy's buffs.

Weaknesses

  • Some of the lowest defensive stats (HP, DEF and MND) in the cast.

  • Below average AGI means she needs buffs to get more turns.

Baseline

  • Cleanse: on demand enemy buff removal. Lenne starts with Cleanse, and should keep it equipped for the whole game. Not many enemies can buff themselves, but when they do, Lenne can easily get rid of them.

  • Third Eye: one of the sources of Lenne's nuke, increasing her next attack by +125% damage (up to 150% when maxed). It's double-edged sword as her DEF and MND are reduced by 25% (which is detrimental considering her already low defensive stats) but the extra damage compensates it.

  • Water / Fire / Wind Coat: enables the party to deal elemental damage.

  • Heaven's Tear: arguably Lenne's most potent skill, as it'll always deal damage based on the enemy's current elemental weakness.

  • Elemental Pact: Consumes all TP and the next 3 magical attacks deal +100% damage (up to 150% when maxed).

  • TP Sacrifice: lose 10 TP but deals 5% more damage (when maxed you lose 5 TP and deal 15% more damage). This passive synergizes absurdly well with Lenne as her TP pool is already among the highest in the game.

Class Abilities

  • Firestorm / Earthstream Spirit: from Summoner. Synergizes extremely well with her kit since the damage scales with MAG. This ability can be equipped on pretty much any character as it has no set duration and adds extra damage on every turn.

  • Elite's Magic: from Sage, which is an exclusive Ashes of Elrant Class Emblem. Increases MAG by 15% (25% when maxed) for self; has no set duration and lasts until KO'ed or the battle is over.

Crystals

  • MAG Up: stack those and Lenne will be hitting even harder. No-brainer choice. There is actually a diminishing return when stacking these stat up crystals, though.

  • CRIT Up: with the Magic Poleyns accessory Lenne's Magic Abilities can crit, so raising her crit chance is really useful.

  • HP / DEF / MDN Up: considering Lenne's low defensive stats, trying to circumvent with crystals is a good idea.

  • Specialist: Lenne will pretty much always be hitting for weakness damage, so having this allows for more Ultra Moves per boss battle.

  • HP Drain: very straightforward. Hit enemy, get HP. The amount seems to scale with damage done, so the harder you hit, the more you heal.

Early Game

Lenne begins the game with access to her thrust-based elemental abilities as core offensive options, along with utility skills such as cleansing effects. These give her early flexibility between direct damage and light support, allowing her to contribute effectively from the start of combat.

Her offensive potential early on is tied to her strong magical attributes, making her effective in encounters that rely on exploiting elemental weaknesses. However, she has relatively lower defensive stats, which makes her more dependent on positioning, party protection, and support-based mitigation in the early stages of progression.

Developing her offensive attributes reinforces her role as a primary caster early on, while investing in survivability helps stabilize her performance in longer encounters until more defensive tools, party synergies, and gear options become available later in the game.

Mid Game

As the game progresses, Lenne gains access to additional skill tiers that expand both her elemental coverage and her tactical options. Mid-game abilities introduce aerial and jump-style attacks, which provide versatile damage options in standard encounters and allow her to contribute across a wider range of battle scenarios.

During this stage, she begins learning skills that enhance her burst-damage potential by temporarily increasing her magical output or improving the effectiveness of elemental abilities. These tools reinforce her role as a high-impact caster when supported by appropriate party setups.

Lenne also unlocks Coat-style abilities later in mid-game, enabling her to modify elemental affinities for herself and the party. These skills integrate naturally with team compositions that rely on coordinated elemental strategies, allowing the group to capitalize on shared weakness targeting.

Class Emblems available in this phase allow Lenne to lean further into either elemental specialization or general magical scaling, depending on build direction. Different emblem paths reinforce different strengths - some focus on raw magic growth, while others expand her access to additional elemental abilities or advanced spell effects. Both approaches remain viable and depend on party needs and player preference.

End Game

In the late stages of progression, Lenne gains access to her highest-tier elemental abilities, providing more efficient single-slot options compared to earlier skill variations. These upgrades allow her to consolidate multiple attack types into stronger, streamlined abilities, making room for additional utility or support skills in her loadout.

Late-game skills also enhance her scaling potential by improving resource conversion and amplifying elemental interactions. These mechanics reinforce her role as a burst-damage caster in coordinated party strategies, particularly in encounters where targets can be weakened through elemental alignment or support effects provided by allies.

Advanced Class Emblems unlocked in the late game offer pathways to further specialize her magical attributes or expand her elemental flexibility. Different emblem choices support distinct builds - some emphasize raw magical power, while others enhance access to advanced spell effects or resource efficiency. Selection depends on intended team compositions and the desired casting role.

End-game equipment options can increase magical damage output, affect how critical effects apply to spellcasting, or improve overall offensive consistency. These items allow players to tailor her function as either a high-burst specialist or a sustained damage caster, depending on party needs and encounter design.
