Trinkets & Equipment

Trinkets and equipment are the foundation of every build in Crownless. They define your character’s strengths, weaknesses, and overall playstyle. Each item can be found in the world, purchased, or unlocked through blueprints - and many belong to powerful item sets that grant additional bonuses when combined.

Trinkets Overview

Trinkets are magical accessories that grant passive effects, resistances, or special abilities. They are divided into four rarities - Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic - and many belong to unique thematic sets. Some trinkets can also be Attuned, amplifying their effects for an additional resource cost.

Common Trinkets

Common trinkets are the basic magical accessories you’ll find early on. They offer simple but reliable stat bonuses such as health, mana, resistances, or regeneration.

Examples:

  • Amulet of Health - Increases maximum Health by +30 (or +60 when attuned).

  • Amulet of Mana - Increases maximum Mana by +30 (or +60 when attuned).

  • Apothecary’s Antidote - Grants +30 Poison Resistance, perfect for surviving toxic zones.

  • Book of Arms - Boosts Weapon Power by +20 (or +40 attuned).

  • Trader’s Coin - Increases Gold ($CGT) Gain by +25%, or +50% when attuned.

  • Rings of Recovery Set - A trio of regeneration rings that improve Health and Mana recovery.

  • Markham’s Purse - Increases gold ($CGT) gain by +1% per trinket in inventory.

These trinkets often form the basis for early-game survivability and resource control.

Uncommon Trinkets

Uncommon trinkets introduce more complex and synergistic effects - often tailored for specific builds. They can inflict status ailments, summon projectiles, or interact with your attacks and spells.

Examples:

  • Blackjack - Colliding with enemies deals 30–60% Mainhand Weapon Damage and inflicts Stun.

  • Sanctified Water - Drinking a potion removes Shadow Curse gain for 30 seconds.

  • Greater Amulet of Vigor - Increases both Health and Mana by up to +100.

  • Dragon’s Claw - Increases Weapon and Spell Critical Damage by 25–50%.

  • Scroll of Magic Missile - Automatically fires a magical projectile at nearby enemies when spending mana.

  • Throwing Stars - Unleashes spinning blades every few Weapon Attacks.

  • Symbol of Zeal - 10% chance on critical hit to summon a radiant symbol that boosts Crit Chance.

  • Spiked Pauldrons - Reflects Physical Damage when hit, scaling with Armor.

Uncommon trinkets are where customization begins - mixing offensive boosts with utility mechanics to fit your class.

Rare Trinkets

Rare trinkets bridge the gap between basic accessories and legendary artifacts. They often combine raw stat boosts with powerful passive effects or spell interactions.

Notable Examples:

  • Apothecary’s Sickle – Kills have a small chance to restore a Potion Charge. Perfect for endurance builds.

  • Assassin’s Mask – Reduces enemy detection range and grants bonus damage to unaware targets.

  • Chaos Orb – Spell hits can deal random elemental damage (Fire, Ice, Lightning, or Poison).

  • Codex of Power – Dramatically increases Weapon and Spell Power — a must for hybrid casters.

  • Coiled Serpent – Adds Poison damage to attacks and summons a snake-like projectile on hit.

  • Crest of Victory – Increases damage against bosses, ideal for endgame runs.

  • Markham’s Set (Amulet, Wand, Mace) – Each item scales bonuses with your trinket count, boosting Attack and Spell Power per item.

  • Arachnoid Legacy – Summons small spider hatchlings that fight alongside you.

  • Thunderbird Feather – Adds Lightning damage and summons thunderbolts when you dash.

  • Fire Salts / Ectoplasm / Closed Circuit – Elemental sets that add Fire, Ice, or Lightning effects to weapons.

  • Cauldron of Fire – Automatically launches small fireballs at nearby enemies.

  • Symbol of Rejuvenation – Triggers a healing symbol when your health drops below 50%.

Rare trinkets encourage creative hybrid builds — blending melee, elemental, and spell effects together.

Epic Trinkets

Epic trinkets are the most powerful and unique accessories in the game. They feature no attunements - they are already at their peak potential. Each one significantly alters gameplay and is often build-defining.

Examples:

  • Dragon’s Heart - Grants massive health and regeneration when standing still.

  • Elemental Prism - Casting multiple spells spawns a rotating prism that fires elemental beams in all directions.

  • Sands of Time - Halves all spell cooldowns; kills can reset abilities entirely.

  • Orb of Restoration - Converts spent mana into health recovery - perfect for mana-heavy builds.

  • Champion’s Medal - Boosts Parry efficiency and adds a counterattack strike after each successful parry.

  • Phoenix Feather - Automatically consumes a potion to prevent death once per trigger.

  • Scroll of Hellfire - Creates a fiery rain that burns all nearby enemies.

  • Arctic Step - Leaves trails of frost behind as you move, dealing Ice damage.

  • Symbol of Piercing - Drops a symbol that grants massive Armor and Resistance Penetration for a short duration.

Epic trinkets often belong to elite item sets such as Dragon Lord, Soldier’s Uniform, or Symbols of Fate, each offering synergy between offense and defense.

Cursed Trinkets

Cursed Trinkets are extremely rare and risky artifacts that scale with your Shadow Curse level. The deeper you descend into darkness, the stronger they become. They cannot be attuned and do not belong to any item set - they exist outside the normal order of magic.

Cursed Trinkets:

  • 🦴 Decaying Hand - Grants +3 Weapon Power per Shadow Curse level.

  • 👁️ Pickled Eye - Grants +3 Spell Power per Shadow Curse level.

  • 🔪 Bent Knife - Grants +3% Weapon Critical Damage per Shadow Curse level.

The power of these trinkets is limitless - but so is the danger. Use them only if you can control your curse… or embrace it.
